India's Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon's South Pole
India's Space Agency, ISRO, accomplished a noteworthy milestone on August 23rd by successfully executing the landing of the Lander Module from its Chandrayaan-3 mission on the lunar surface. Chandrayaan-3 was launched on July 14, 2023, and successfully landed on the Moon's South Pole on 23rd August 2023 at 6:04 PM. This achievement holds significance as only a handful of nations - such as the USSR, the U.S., and China - have previously achieved this feat. Notably, India stands out by becoming the first country to land a spacecraft in proximity to the Moon's south pole. The Vikram lander achieved a smooth and controlled landing, marking a critical advancement in the mission. ISRO had patiently awaited the opportune moment to initiate the landing sequence, which unfolded according to plan. This accomplishment holds immense importance for India's space exploration endeavors.
